An unusual, late 19th or early 20th century Shiraz rug. The construction is all wool which gives it a soft handle. The central field has substantial but quite even wear with a triple pole medallion decoration on red ground. A pleasing variation of motifs in the border. Lovely, long wool fringes - rare in a rug of this age.
Good overall condition despite the wear with just slight loss to one end.
