A 1940s Qashgai carpet by the Amaleh taifeh of the Qashgai confederation, Fars, in southwest Persia.
Dark red field with ivory centre medallion repeated in the dark blue spandrels; dark red floral tree main border; narrow guards. Look carefully for the small bird and floral motifs that are typical of the Qashgai style.
Slight loss to the luxuriant fringes, otherwise overall even wear and good condition.
