A 1970s Kars Kazak rug from east Anatolia. The geometric motifs are typical of Kazak designs but here interpreted in a more contemporary palette.
The subtle browns, blue, camel and pale yellow are delightfully combined and create a restful overall impression which would work well in a contemporary interior or to lift a room with dark walls. A curious interpolation of red dye at the centre is mysterious but apparently intentional.
