An early 20th century Fereghan rug from northwest Persia with dense herati motifs including small birds and stylized human figures on a dark blue ground. There is an old patch to the verso. The ends are slightly uneven and have at some point been neatly oversewn in the same style as the edges rather than being fringed.
A hole has been patched and embroidered by Yarn to blend in and is now only visible very close up.
This is a very pretty antique rug.
