A 1930s-1940s Hamadan rug from north west Persia.
A slightly eccentric but harmonious rug in soft pinks, soft red, taupe and dark blue with tiny pops of pale orange in the spandrels. Some colour fading and some deliberate "abrash". A variety of motifs in the border including mosques and geometricised flowers.
Slight losses to lower end, frayed selvedges.
