A 1940s to 1950s Persian Bidjar rug from northwest Persia. The stylised flower and leaf motifs flow beautifully and are characteristic of this weaving area. The colours are warm but the palette is restrained with a predominance of pale blue, pale mustard and blue-black set on a soft red field.
Finely woven with a high knot count which gives a robust structure. In good condition apart from slight loss to ends.
With pleasing colours and a fine design, this is a charming vintage rug.
