An attractive and very authentic antique 1920s rug by the Baharlu tribe of the Khamseh Confederacy of tribes in south west Persia.
Terracotta stepsided field with a large pale blue central medallion; filled with angular floral motifs with flowerheads in the dark blue field and spandrels. Dark blue leaf and palmette main border; terracotta floral guards.
Overall wear with corrosion to dark brown in places and a patch of wear to the base, losses to ends,
