A 1920s Afshar rug from the Kerman area in south east Persia.
Classic Afshar design with boteh motifs on an ivory field within a narrow leaf trellis, striped borders and multicoloured selvedges. Ivory floral and boteh main border; dark brown flowerhead and medallion guards.
A very characteristic piece and a real antique.
Overall low pile with corrosion to dark brown in places and some loss to fringes but good condition for its age.
