A very pretty 1930s Mahal rug from north west Persia.
Dark blue field with dark pink diamond shape centre medallion and spandrels; all over angular flowering plants with ivory details; dark pink floral main border and dark blue floral guards.
Slight wear in places, slightly frayed edges and slight loss to top end. There is a small patch of discolouration from loss of pile on one flowerhead (see last picture) but this is not conspicuous within the whole.
