A 1940s Kashan rug from west Persia in a subtle melange of blues and pinks.
Light red cartouche shaped field with dark and pale blue centre medallion and spandrels; all over flowers and foliage; dark blue main border of rosettes and palmettes; pale blue and pale yellow flowerhead guards.
Overall even wear and small spots of old moth damage. Robust handle.
