 
      An antique early 20th century Malayer rug from northwest Persia. Dark pink field filled with boteh, small flowerheads and many pairs of songbirds, enclosed in a pale yellow strapwork lattice. Narrow ice-blue angular floral main border within pale yellow and dark brown floral guards.
Overall wear, to base in places and some corrosion but consistent with its age. A small hole to end of field centre has been patched. Loss to end and edges.
