A 1930s Malayer rug from the Hamadan district in northwest Persia.
Dark blue diamond-shaped field and ivory spandrels with all over herati design. Camel main border of spaced flowerheads; terracotta ribbon guards.
Some wear to base in places with slight loss to top end.
