A very jolly late 19th or early 20th century Yuruk village rug from the Konya region in central Anatolia.

Shades of amber, jade, blue, coral and brown with some abrash which makes it red at one end.

A free working of the pattern in an all wool construction and a glorious disregard for colour symmetry which may be a result of it having been cut down from a longer rug at some stage.

Soft thick pile and soft handle. Slight loss to ends but otherwise good condition for its age.

A pretty and striking piece that would work particularly well to bring colour and texture to a contemporary interior.
